253. Old Man Socks

Socks are a real issue these days. They are either falling off, being pulled off, or hiked up to his waist.

And the 2013 calandar from mommy's desk...took it down today and put up 2014, but had to take a picture of 4.11.13! Wubba was right on time!

Every year on the Sunday before Christmas we get together with my dads side of the family to celebrate. Last year there was lots of talk about the baby on the way & this year he was there (officially) and opening his very first presents! My cousins were so very sweet to him and we are incredibly thankful for their kindness and generosity.

And our little Christmas present for this year & every year to come...

241. Happy 8 Months!

I feel like we say this every.single.day. And that is "time flies." How on earth is it even possible that you are edging this close to your first birthday already? Each and every day holds something new with you and it really is amazing to watch you grow and change.

You wake up in the morning with the sweetest smile on your face. You will even lay in your crib and entertain yourself for a few minutes. Typically, since the good ole time change, you wake up some time after 3am and come into bed with mommy and daddy...we have a bottle ready & waiting and then it is back to sleep (usually!). You love your exersaucer still and will jump up and down with real intent. You enjoy sitting on the floor and playing with your toys - favorites are the pop up toy and anything that makes noise and plays music. You love music! The playlist on mommy's iphone is forever growing! We now sing "This Old Man" just about every night in the bath - you always give mommy a grin when I start off with the first verse. Bath time is still your favorite and you have so much fun with the washcloth, the stacking cups, squirtly toys, and fishing set. Recently you have figured out that you are big enough and strong enough to move around on your own in the tub, which is pretty scary for mommy & daddy! Also, you let us know if we take you out of the bath before you are ready :). You are such a good eater and have enjoyed sharing a peppermint party with mommy and drinking water from our cup. You help us with the feeding by grabbing the spoon as it goes into your mouth and usually wipe all of the food off and all over yourself or the chair OR the dogs who are anxiously waiting for your handouts. You do this funny grunt thing in the high chair that has nothing to do with the potty and it makes us laugh, which we believe eggs you on. You talk a lot the days. We hear da, da, da and some mum mum mum, and something new that sounds like ouch. Sometimes I think you are singing along with me :) and other times I know you are dancing when you bob your little head around. You have your first tooth and are starting to crawl. You still love tickles, to be thrown up in the air, or benchpressed, you have so much fun in the swing in the basement - you reach for everything and are so curious. Your clap is one the best things I hear every day. And you are starting to wave. We dont know how tall you are, but daddy weighed you at 27lbs this week - you are no doubt going to be just like him. You love your daddy to pieces and the mere sight of him evokes smiles and laughter; mommy knows how you feel ;).

We love and adore you. Everything about you is a miracle. We cherish every day with you - our little Wubba, Dub Dub, Boosie, Zander D, and Lovey.
