18...The Learning Curve

Brad, Zander, and I attempted a trip to the grocery store this evening. It had been a good few weeks since we made a solid run at filling the fridge and meals were becoming a challenge. Let's just say that we didn't time it well and the mid-end of our time at Giant coincided with time for Z to eat! We were pushing the cart in circles, rocking it forward and back, and dividing and conquering the grocery list until the full meltdown hit. Poor Zander :( I was in the pharmacy line to get his vitamin D drops when Brad rounded the corner and all I could hear were my baby's sad, angry, hungry cry and see the stress I felt mimicked on Brads face. Zander and I made a direct line for the car and by the time we got settled, there were real tears flowing out of his eyes. Mommy and daddy learned a very valuable lesson...it's not worth the risk! LOL! He might make it the full 3ish hours for a trip out annnnd then again, he might not, so we'll be planning a little better in the future ;). The other is our big boy (9lbs and 3oz's) at the doctor yesterday showing off and holding in his pacifier. This was after I took off his diaper at the scales and he christened the wall and countertop ;) before I realized I needed to cover his spray up instead of staring in stunned mode at what was happening.

17 1st Visit to Gram & Pop-pop's

We went to my parents with Zander for his very first of MANY visits to G&P's on Sunday and our baby boy slept for just about the entire time door to door (130 - 830pm). We wondered if this meant we were in for a long night; however, we cruised through the night per the "new" usual. Perhaps he was busy being snuggled warmly by loving family and logging some growing time and that is all good stuff! He did keep us entertained with this odd and loud exhale snore sound. We'll have to see about sharing the video on here later...stay tuned.

Zander got to meet his great Aunt Judy today and second cousins Randall and Debbie. Aunt Judy hooked him up with his first Redskins gear! We are officially ready for football season :)

And for Aunt Holly...he wore an outfit with 3 pieces today (from your folks)! We are making progress with getting dressed. Haha.

Happy Weekend - 16

15 days

Zander weighed in at 8lbs 13oz's today! He has officially passed his birthweight (yay)! Today he and I ventured out for an appointment (another first), a drive thru Starbucks run (oh how I have missed my caramel americano!) and ran by the dry cleaners...all little stops not normally worth mentioning, but it was kind of a big deal today - haha. Very thankful that the cleaners were nice enough to help me to the car ;) Not sure how I thought I could carry Z and a bunch on hanging clothes ☺

14...How did we get here so fast?

Today Zander turned 2 weeks old. It is silly how fast time goes especially when your watching someone so little grow and change every day. Zander spends more of the day awake now and I think we are getting our days and nights straight! Yesterday he fell asleep on me in a not so comfy looking position (his tummy hurt) and we just went with what worked!

Day 13...We love BOB!

Gram visited today and we ventured outside for our first pass at the stroller and the verdict is that we love our BOB! Zander was chill as usual with the new experience and mommy is thankful it went well! I see lots of walks in our near future :)

12...tummy, bath, hair

Zander tried some tummy time today for the first time...our pediatrician said the sooner the better.

Daddy gave him a bath this evening and had a little too much fun combing Z's hair ;). Wild and crazy times at the K household - lol

11days...making faces at daddy

Today was our first day at home solo and it went great! Laurie stopped by to meet little Z and then we tried FaceTime with Kallie & Hadley...got to love technology :)

Brad got some good pics of Zander this evening. Thank goodness b/c I was asleep on that job today...

Day 10...Meeting my cousins and grandma Bendi's birthday

Sunday was spent hanging around the house with family. Zander got to meet his two big cousins Grace and Lily! And we celebrated grandma Bendi's birthday

Day 9...our first outing

Today we loaded up for our first trip to visit my papaw...I was feeding Zander "quickly" before we left when all of a sudden there was a warm gush of liquid ...the feeding turned into a changing for both of us, the first of many I'm sure ;)

Lots of pictures were taken with my cousins, their babies (we all delivered within a month of each other), and our grandfather. Z will no doubt have lots of playmates in the future!

Day 8...Daddy's last weekday at home

Today was a sweet day at home together with nothing to do and just the three of us, so Zander got a good sponge bath in his bathtub (pics on a different camera) and he kinda loved it. Just sat there and chilled...we are thinking we might have a water baby on our hands! Time will tell :)

One week!

Time flies...it's hard to believe. Today we had our little family photo shoot to mark the occasion. This is little Z unswaddled (rare) and sleeping in his bassinet.

Daddy stepped out to take care of some work today, so Zander and Mommy chilled at home with Gram. We logged lots of couch time! Zander has so many expressions already :)
