Holiday weekends, we are learning, are not quite what they used to be :) First of all, that is totally fine for us. We love the extra time with our little man and the lack of a rushed morning "routine." This Labor Day weekend Zander and I went to visit my grandfather on Saturday, we had a great day, it was exhausting as usual, but fun to see my family and visit with my cousins and their kids. Sadly, I failed to take any pictures all day :(
Sunday morning is when we were confronted with the reality that the rest of the weekend might not be what we planned. Poor little Zander started throwing up and only eating half a bottle...he was super tired, and would fall asleep on our shoulders. THIS NEVER HAPPENS. There was no fever and intermittently he would seem to feel better...fast forward to Monday morning and the same symtpons and momma finally called the pediatrician. Of course there is no real way of knowing what was going on...and then about mid afternoon he was on the mend.
The BIGGEST achievement of the weekend happened on Monday for Zander's last nap and bedtime when we were able to put him in his crib and he fell off to sleep on his own with no crying! This isnt something we had to put a ton of effort into, the credit goes to his wonderful daycare for working on this with him and a magical fisher price sleep machine :). For his Monday nap he even slept on his tummy...he woke up with all kinds of lines on his face. Too cute.
